Example: sending signals to the brain Nervous tissue reacts to stimuli and conducts impulses to various organs in the body Nervous tissue is made up of nervous cells called neurons

Cells: Neurons and Glial Cells Neurons : Cells that send and receive electro-chemical signals to and from the brain and nervous system . **Basic unit of the nervous tissue** Glial cells : Provide support functions for the neurons
