I uploaded a powerpoint file (about 172mb) that has the music properly embedded and it works, but when just letting the slideshow play, the transition from one song to the next does not always happen and sometimes a song is skipped, but the song after the skipped one will always play. If I navigate to the slide in which the music is cued to play, then it works fine, but just watching the presentation with the normal timed transitions (without clicking through slides) results in every other song being skipped, this happens on most computers I've tried but one of them plays it correctly all the way through. The strange thing is the error is inconsistent concerning which songs get skipped. The first song always plays, but then problems can happen with the second, but if not that, then the third usually, etc. Very strange. Oh, and this doesn't happen when viewing the show in PPT program itself.
It makes me think it has something to do with the timing of each song and the relationship with the command to execute the next song. I tried checking the box in slide transitions that loops the sound until the next sound gets triggered and uploaded that version but it had the same result. The looping song stops but the new one does not play. Maybe the time it takes to finish the first song and switch to the second takes too long and the cue is missed so it just skips the song?
Details: Software: File created with PPT 2003. Creation technique: The embedded wav files have been edited to fade in and out exactly with the timing of the presentation, so each file is only as long as its respective section and there is just enough to have music throughout the entire show, but no excessive audio information. (i.e. each song should start and end before the next one plays.) Operating System: I tried this on 4 various PCs running Windows XP. Browsers: Same thing happened in IE6, IE8, Firefox, and Chrome. In Safari, no songs were skipped (alright!), but there was the delay described in a separate posting. The songs would all start a slide or two late, but would cut off at the end of the correct slide, so the volume fade out I had at the end of each song was missed, but at least all songs played.
The problem is not too bad, since it is functional with user intervention, however many of the people I want to view this presentation are not very web savvy and they will probably not be able to figure out how to navigate the interface, so will miss out on part of the experience. Any help you can offer is much appreciated.

I just uploaded my first PPT presentation to Author Stream. One hour later it was available to be played. The video quality was excellent, but the audio timing, while it sounded like the originaal, the timing was off. With transitions of 7-10 seconds, many slides had no audio at all, which consequently threw off the audio timing for the remaining slides. I am going to have to run out to purchase S-Video and Audio cables in order to play this on a tv set, which is deeply disappointing. The concept here is good, and the price is reasonable, however, if it doesn't produce the output of the original medium, it is worthless to me.

Hi,
You can try the tips below for a better output
1. Try to set proper timing for slide (use rehearse timing option). 2. Try to avoid delay & custom timings etc. 3. Avoid very fast settings for animation 4. Not all the animation are supported. See the detailed list at http://www.authorstream.com/List_of_Animations_and_Transitions 5. Avoid animations by letter / word. 6. Avoid special character in audio file name.
Also videos created are always similar to presentation output on authorSTREAM. Make sure to view flash output on authorSTREAM before proceeding for video output.

Hi, It seems that you have used .mp3 (Linked) with play across slide. Linked audio doesn’t work in PowerPoint when file is moved from original system which has linked audio file on path specified. authorSTREAM supports embedded audio ,audio added through record narration feature of Power Point and transition sounds. For presentations having linked audio you can use authorSTREAM desktop. You can download authorSTREAM desktop from http://www.authorstream.com/desktop/
